The Mermaid / Trumpet Silhouette
The Sirène is defined by a sculpted silhouette that follows the natural contours of the body through the bodice, waist and hips before opening into a distinctive flare toward the lower portion of the gown.
Unlike silhouettes that create volume from the waist, the Sirène maintains a close, elongated line through the body. The flare is introduced lower in the silhouette, creating a striking contrast between the fitted upper form and the movement of the skirt.
In our illustrated example, the gown remains closely fitted through the hips and thighs before transitioning into a more dramatic, sweeping skirt.
